Johan Franzen had a natural hat trick in the first period and finished with four goals and two assists Thursday night, as the Detroit Red Wings clipped the San Jose Sharks 7-1 in Game 4 and now trail the Western Conference semifinal 3-1.
The Red Wings won this contest as -130 favorites at Joe Louis Arena, while the eight goals made it OVER the posted over/under (5.5) set by oddsmakers.
Todd Bertuzzi, Valtteri Filppula, and Brian Rafalsi added singles for the Red Wings. Dany Heatley scored the lone marker for the Sharks.
