New York Falls 5-4 to Stars - Recap

Dallas earned a 5-4 victory over New York on Saturday, but needed a shootout to do it at Nassau Coliseum.

Dallas won as a -113 favorite, while Over-Under bettors who played OVER the total of 5.5 were rewarded at the payout window.

Mike Ribeiro clinched the win with a shootout goal in round 3 for the Stars. Dallas got goals from Brenden Morrow (2), Stephane Robidas, and Jamie Benn in the victory. Benn opened the scoring at 9:52 of the first period.

Kari Lehtonen turned in a 43-save effort for the Stars.

Doug Weight, James Wisniewski, Blake Comeau, and Matt Moulson scored for the Islanders, finding the net behind Kari Lehtonen.

Rick DiPietro stopped 18 of 22 shots for the Islanders, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

On the power play, Dallas went 1-for-7, while the Islanders were 3-for-8 with the man advantage.

Dallas lost the shots on goal battle to New York by a margin of 47-22.

Dallas heads into a battle against the Red Wings. New York, meanwhile, will have their next action against New York.
