Alex Tanguay scored a pair of goals against the Oilers as Calgary handed Edmonton a 5-3 defeat on Saturday at Scotiabank Saddledome.

The Flames were a -135 favorite in the win. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 5.5.

Calgary got goals from Alex Tanguay (2), Jarome Iginla, Brendan Morrison, and Niklas Hagman in the victory. Tanguay opened the scoring at 9:02 of the first period.

Miikka Kiprusoff turned in a 27-save effort for the Flames.

Ales Hemsky, Dustin Penner, and Magnus Paajarvi scored for the Oilers, finding the net behind Miikka Kiprusoff.

Nikolai Khabibulin stopped 41 of 45 shots for the Oilers, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

On the power play, Calgary went 1-for-4, while the Oilers were 0-for-4 with the man advantage.

Edmonton lost the shots on goal battle to Calgary by a margin of 46-30.

Next game, Calgary takes its act on the road to face Nashville looking for another win. For Edmonton, they head home to face Minnesota.
