Calgary Falls 4-2 to Red Wings - Recap

Detroit skated to a 4-2 victory over Calgary on Thursday in NHL action at Joe Louis Arena.

Detroit won as a -185 favorite, while Over-Under bettors who played OVER the total of 5.5 were rewarded at the payout window.

Nicklas Lidstrom, Todd Bertuzzi, Henrik Zetterberg, and Johan Franzen each scored for the Red Wings in the victory. Zetterberg opened the scoring for Detroit, finding the back of the net at 17:29 of the first period. The goal was assisted by Pavel Datsyuk and Tomas Holmstrom.

Jimmy Howard turned in a 34-save effort for the Red Wings.

Mikael Backlund (2) scored for the Flames, finding the net behind Jimmy Howard.

Miikka Kiprusoff stopped 26 of 30 shots for the Flames, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

On the power play, Detroit went 1-for-5, while the Flames were 0-for-6 with the man advantage.

Detroit lost the shots on goal battle to Calgary by a margin of 36-30.

Detroit looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Ducks. The Flames will aim to get back on the winning track at Columbus.
