Columbus needed a shootout to earn a 3-2 victory over Edmonton on Thursday in NHL action at Nationwide Arena.

Columbus won as a -155 favorite, while Over-Under bettors who played UNDER the total of 5.5 were rewarded at the payout window.

The win was clinched by Nikita Filatov, who beat Devan Dubnyk in a shootout to gain the extra point in the standings for Columbus. Samuel Pahlsson and Kyle Wilson each scored for the Blue Jackets in the victory. Pahlsson opened the scoring for Columbus, finding the back of the net at 4:11 of the first period. The goal was assisted by Chris Clark and Kyle Wilson.

Columbus outshot Edmonton 41-27 in the game.

Columbus heads into a battle against the Avalanche. Edmonton, meanwhile, will have their next action against Chicago.
