Columbus couldn't hang with the Avalanche on Saturday as Colorado blasted the Blue Jackets 5-1 at Pepsi Center.

The Avalanche were a -135 favorite in the win. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 5.5.

David Liffiton, Chris Stewart, Paul Stastny, Cody McLeod, and David Jones each scored for the Avalanche in the victory. Jones opened the scoring for Colorado, finding the back of the net at 4:14 of the first period. The goal was assisted by Milan Hejduk and Scott Hannan.

Peter Budaj turned in a 33-save effort for the Avalanche.

Derick Brassard scored for the Blue Jackets, finding the net behind Peter Budaj.

Colorado lost the shots on goal battle to Columbus by a margin of 34-31.

Colorado looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Canucks. The Blue Jackets will aim to get back on the winning track vs Montreal.
