St. Louis's defense, led by netminder Jaroslav Halak, shut down San Jose 2-0 at Scottrade Center on on Thursday.

The Blues were a -115 favorite in the win. The combined score dipped UNDER the total, which closed at 5.5.

Matt D'Agostini and David Perron each scored for the Blues in the victory. D'Agostini opened the scoring for St. Louis, finding the back of the net at 17:41 of the first period. The goal was assisted by Barret Jackman and Alex Pietrangelo.

Jaroslav Halak stopped 25 of 25 San Jose shots in the victory.

Antti Niemi stopped 27 of 29 shots for the Sharks, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

On the power play, St. Louis went 0-for-7, while the Sharks were 0-for-3 with the man advantage.

St. Louis outshot San Jose 29-25 in the game.

St. Louis looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Bruins. The Sharks will aim to get back on the winning track vs Tampa Bay.
