Chicago earned a 5-4 victory over Atlanta on Saturday, but needed a shootout to do it at Philips Arena.

Chicago won as a -130 favorite, while Over-Under bettors who played OVER the total of 5.5 were rewarded at the payout window.

Viktor Stalberg potted the shootout winner for Chicago. Jonathan Toews (2) and Patrick Kane (2) each scored for the Blackhawks in the victory. Toews opened the scoring for Chicago, finding the back of the net at 9:52 of the first period. The goal was assisted by Brent Seabrook and Patrick Kane.

Marty Turco turned in a 33-save effort for the Blackhawks.

Nik Antropov, Rich Peverley, Evander Kane, and Alex Burmistrov scored for the Thrashers, finding the net behind Marty Turco.

Ondrej Pavelec stopped 36 of 40 shots for the Thrashers, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

On the power play, Chicago went 2-for-2, while the Thrashers were 3-for-5 with the man advantage.

Chicago outshot Atlanta 40-37 in the game.

Next game, Chicago takes its act home to face Edmonton looking for another win. For Atlanta, they head on the road to face Ottawa.
