Phoenix Falls 4-3 to Penguins - Recap

Pittsburgh needed a shootout to earn a 4-3 victory over Phoenix on Saturday in NHL action at Jobing.com Arena.

Pittsburgh was favored by -110 and came through for bettors backing them. The game went OVER the consensus closing total of 5.5.

Mark Letestu clinched the win with a shootout goal in round 3 for the Penguins. Chris Kunitz, Evgeni Malkin, and Sidney Crosby each scored for the Penguins in the victory. Crosby opened the scoring for Pittsburgh, finding the back of the net at 1:16 of the second period. The goal was unassisted.

Brent Johnson turned in a 22-save effort for the Penguins.

Eric Belanger, Radim Vrbata, and Wojtek Wolski scored for the Coyotes, finding the net behind Brent Johnson.

Ilya Bryzgalov stopped 33 of 36 shots for the Coyotes, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

On the power play, Pittsburgh went 1-for-5, while the Coyotes were 0-for-4 with the man advantage.

Pittsburgh outshot Phoenix 36-28 in the game.

Pittsburgh looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Bruins. The Coyotes will aim to get back on the winning track at Detroit.
