New Jersey Ices Washington 5-0 - Recap

The battle between the Devils and Capitals didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Washington was handed a 5-0 defeat on Monday at Prudential Center.

New Jersey won as a +130 underdog, while Over-Under bettors who played UNDER the total of 6 were rewarded at the payout window.

Jason Arnott (2), Patrik Elias, Dainius Zubrus, and Mattias Tedenby each scored for the Devils in the victory. Elias opened the scoring for New Jersey, finding the back of the net at 5:49 of the first period. The goal was assisted by Mattias Tedenby and Andy Greene.

Johan Hedberg stopped 30 of 30 Washington shots in the victory.

Washington got a 18-stop effort from Braden Holtby in the loss.
