New York Falls 3-1 to Blue Jackets - Recap

Rick Nash scored a pair of goals against the Rangers as Columbus handed New York a 3-1 defeat on Saturday at Nationwide Arena.

The Blue Jackets were a -123 favorite in the win. The combined score dipped UNDER the total, which closed at 5.5.

Columbus got goals from Rick Nash (2) and Antoine Vermette in the victory. Vermette opened the scoring at 15:43 of the second period.

Steve Mason turned in a 32-save effort for the Blue Jackets.

New York got a goal from Marc Staal in the loss, but it wasn't enough.

Henrik Lundqvist stopped 20 of 23 shots for the Rangers, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

On the power play, Columbus went 1-for-2, while the Rangers were 1-for-5 with the man advantage.

Columbus lost the shots on goal battle to New York by a margin of 33-23.

Next game, Columbus takes its act on the road to face Calgary looking for another win. For New York, they head home to face Washington.
