The battle between the Kings and Avalanche didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Colorado was handed a 5-0 defeat on Tuesday at Pepsi Center.
Los Angeles was an underdog by +100 and came through for bettors backing them. The game went UNDER the consensus closing total of 5.5.
Los Angeles got goals from Dustin Brown (2), Justin Williams, Rob Scuderi, and Brad Richardson in the victory. Scuderi opened the scoring at 12:26 of the first period.
Jonathan Quick turned in a 23-save effort for the Kings.
Craig Anderson stopped 27 of 32 shots for the Avalanche, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.
On the power play, Los Angeles went 1-for-3, while the Avalanche were 0-for-3 with the man advantage.
Los Angeles outshot Colorado 32-23 in the game.
Next game, Los Angeles takes its act home to face Edmonton looking for another win. For Colorado, they head home to face Minnesota.
