Matt Cooke, Pascal Dupuis, Sidney Crosby, Mark Letestu, and Ben Lovejoy each scored for the Penguins in the victory. Letestu opened the scoring for Pittsburgh, finding the back of the net at 1:30 of the first period. The goal was assisted by Tyler Kennedy and Chris Conner.
Brent Johnson turned in a 20-save effort for the Penguins.
Bryan McCabe and Stephen Weiss scored for the Panthers, finding the net behind Brent Johnson.
Scott Clemmensen stopped 18 of 19 shots for the Panthers, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.
On the power play, Pittsburgh went 0-for-4, while the Panthers were 0-for-3 with the man advantage.
Florida outshot Pittsburgh 37-34 in the game.
Pittsburgh looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Capitals. The Panthers will aim to get back on the winning track at Buffalo.
