Vancouver Skates Past Columbus 7-3 - Recap

The battle between the Canucks and Blue Jackets didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Columbus was handed a 7-3 defeat on Thursday at Nationwide Arena.

The Canucks were a +100 underdog in the win. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 5.5.

Vancouver got goals from Raffi Torres (2), Daniel Sedin, Henrik Sedin, Christian Ehrhoff, Ryan Kesler, and Alexandre Burrows in the victory. Burrows opened the scoring at 9:08 of the first period.

Cory Schneider turned in a 24-save effort for the Canucks.

Columbus got goals from R.J. Umberger (2) and Tom Sestito in the loss, but it wasn't enough.

Columbus got a 16-stop effort from Mathieu Garon in the loss.

Vancouver scored 1 time on 5 chances on the power play, while Columbus went 0-for-1 with the man advantage.

Columbus lost the shots on goal battle to Vancouver by a margin of 30-27.

Vancouver heads into a battle against the Oilers. Columbus, meanwhile, will have their next action against Chicago.
