Calgary Skates Past Dallas 3-2 - Recap

Calgary earned a 3-2 victory over Dallas on Thursday, but needed a shootout to do it at American Airlines Center.

The Flames were a +145 underdog in the win. The combined score dipped UNDER the total, which closed at 5.5.

Alex Tanguay clinched the win with a shootout goal in round 1 for the Flames. Alex Tanguay and Anton Babchuk each scored for the Flames in the victory. Babchuk opened the scoring for Calgary, finding the back of the net at 11:03 of the first period. The goal was assisted by Jay Bouwmeester and Brendan Morrison.

Miikka Kiprusoff stopped 14 of 16 Dallas shots in the victory.

Mike Ribeiro and Brenden Morrow scored for the Stars, finding the net behind Miikka Kiprusoff.

Kari Lehtonen stopped 31 of 33 shots for the Stars, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

On the power play, Calgary went 1-for-4, while the Stars were 1-for-3 with the man advantage.

Dallas lost the shots on goal battle to Calgary by a margin of 33-16.

Next game, Calgary takes its act home to face Buffalo looking for another win. For Dallas, they head home to face Phoenix.
