Carolina vs Toronto Recap - Hurricanes Win 4-3

Carolina got a pair of goals from Eric Staal as the Hurricanes skated to a 4-3 victory over Toronto on Tuesday at Air Canada Centre.

Carolina won as a +100 underdog, while Over-Under bettors who played OVER the total of 5.5 were rewarded at the payout window.

Eric Staal (2), Pat Dwyer, and Jeff Skinner each scored for the Hurricanes in the victory. Skinner opened the scoring for Carolina, finding the back of the net at 7:34 of the first period. The goal was assisted by Jussi Jokinen and Tuomo Ruutu.

Cam Ward turned in a 34-save effort for the Hurricanes.

Phil Kessel (2) and Mikhail Grabovski scored for the Maple Leafs, finding the net behind Cam Ward.

Toronto got a 23-stop effort from Jonas Gustavsson in the loss.

On the power play, Carolina went 1-for-3, while the Maple Leafs were 2-for-8 with the man advantage.

Carolina lost the shots on goal battle to Toronto by a margin of 37-27.

Next game, Carolina takes its act on the road to face Ottawa looking for another win. For Toronto, they head home to face Columbus.
