Flames Down Colorado 3-2 - Match Report

The Flames earned a 3-2 victory over the Avalanche on Friday at Scotiabank Saddledome.

Calgary won as a -130 favorite, while Over-Under bettors who played UNDER the total of 5.5 were rewarded at the payout window.

Jarome Iginla, Tom Kostopoulos, and Tim Jackman each scored for the Flames in the victory. Kostopoulos opened the scoring for Calgary, finding the back of the net at 5:53 of the second period. The goal was assisted by Tim Jackman and Mark Giordano.

Miikka Kiprusoff turned in a 19-save effort for the Flames.

Colorado got goals from Tomas Fleischmann and Daniel Winnik in the loss, but it wasn't enough.

Craig Anderson stopped 20 of 23 shots for the Avalanche, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

On the power play, Calgary went 0-for-4, while the Avalanche were 0-for-2 with the man advantage.

Colorado lost the shots on goal battle to Calgary by a margin of 23-21.

Next game, Calgary takes its act on the road to face Edmonton looking for another win. For Colorado, they head home to face Vancouver.
