Minnesota vs Pittsburgh Wrap - Minnesota Wins 4-0

The battle between the Wild and Penguins didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Pittsburgh was handed a 4-0 defeat on Saturday at Consol Energy Centre.

Minnesota was an underdog by +173 and came through for bettors backing them. The game went UNDER the consensus closing total of 5.5.

Martin Havlat, Chuck Kobasew, Kyle Brodziak, and Cal Clutterbuck each scored for the Wild in the victory. Kobasew opened the scoring for Minnesota, finding the back of the net at 13:23 of the first period. The goal was assisted by Mikko Koivu and Andrew Brunette.

Jose Theodore turned in a 26-save effort for the Wild.

Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 33 of 36 shots for the Penguins, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

On the power play, Minnesota went 0-for-5, while the Penguins were 0-for-4 with the man advantage.

Minnesota outshot Pittsburgh 37-26 in the game.

Next game, Minnesota takes its act home to face Dallas looking for another win. For Pittsburgh, they head home to face Boston.
