Painter's massive day leads Boilermakers

Curtis Painter threw for 414 yards on 30-for-39 passing as the Purdue Boilermakers outgunned the Ball State Cardinals 38-28 at Ross-Ade Stadium on Saturday.

Purdue did not cover the 17-point spread at home, but the 66 points scored were OVER the posted total of 60.5.

Painter tossed three touchdowns and two interceptions to lead the Boilermakers, and Dustin Keller had four receptions for 147 yards and a score for Purdue. Korey Sheets had three touchdowns, rushing and receiving.

Joey Lynch was 17-for-26 for 196 yards, one touchdown and one interception, and Larry Bostic caught ten balls for 101 yards in a losing cause for the Cardinals.
