Florida Skates Past Atlanta 2-1 - Recap

Florida earned a 2-1 victory over Atlanta on Friday, but needed a shootout to do it at Philips Arena.

The Panthers were a +125 underdog in the win. The combined score dipped UNDER the total, which closed at 5.5.

Steve Bernier clinched the win with a shootout goal in round 6 for the Panthers. Florida got goals from Marty Reasoner in the victory. Reasoner opened the scoring at 7:13 of the first period.

Tomas Vokoun stopped 45 of 46 Atlanta shots in the victory.

Blake Wheeler scored for the Thrashers, finding the net behind Tomas Vokoun.

Chris Mason stopped 25 of 25 shots for the Thrashers, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

On the power play, Florida went 0-for-5, while the Thrashers were 0-for-3 with the man advantage.

Florida lost the shots on goal battle to Atlanta by a margin of 46-32.

Next game, Florida takes its act home to face New Jersey looking for another win. For Atlanta, they head home to face Toronto.
