Marshall vs Purdue Recap - Boilermakers Win 51-41
The Thundering Herd came up short against the Boilermakers in Week 5 action on Saturday, falling 51-41 at Ross-Ade Stadium.
The Boilermakers earned a straight-up victory but suffered an ATS defeat in failing to cover the 17-point spread. Over-Under bettors who played OVER the total of 61.5 were rewarded with a winning wager.
Caleb TerBush completed 27 of 37 pass attempts for 294 yards for the Boilermakers in the win. He was picked off 1 time by the Thundering Herd defense.
Kevin Grooms rushed for 53 yards for Marshall, while Steward Butler added 26 yards. Rakeem Cato threw for 439 yards for the Thundering Herd, while receivers Tommy Shuler and Antavious Wilson had 200 and 53 yards respectively.
Purdue lost the offensive yardage battle to Marshall 534-443 yards in Saturday's game. Marshall had more first downs as that total ended up 31-25.
The time of possession battle favored Purdue as their offense was on the field for 35:07, longer than the 24:53 of their opponents.
Next game, Purdue takes its act home to face Michigan looking for another win. For Marshall, they head home to face Tulsa.
