Colorado Falls 5-1 to Oilers - Recap

The battle between the Oilers and Avalanche didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Colorado was handed a 5-1 defeat on Saturday at Pepsi Center.

Bettors who backed the Oilers were rewarded as +160 underdogs at sportsbooks. Over-Under bettors saw the total score go OVER the closing total of 5.5.

Edmonton got goals from Shawn Horcoff, Alexandre Giroux, Andrew Cogliano, Sam Gagner, and Ryan Jones in the victory. Gagner opened the scoring at 4:19 of the first period.

Devan Dubnyk turned in a 33-save effort for the Oilers.

Ryan O'Reilly scored for the Avalanche, finding the net behind Devan Dubnyk.

Colorado got a 15-stop effort from Brian Elliott in the loss.

On the power play, Edmonton went 2-for-2, while the Avalanche were 0-for-4 with the man advantage.

Edmonton lost the shots on goal battle to Colorado by a margin of 34-31.

Next game, Edmonton takes its act on the road to face Philadelphia looking for another win. For Colorado, they head on the road to face Minnesota.
