San Jose State vs Alabama Wrap - Alabama Wins 48-3
Eddie Lacy tore up the turf for 111 rushing yards on Saturday to lead the Crimson Tide to a 48-3 win over the Spartans at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Alabama was the ATS victor, as they covered the 39.5-point spread as a favorite. Over-Under bettors who played UNDER the total of 51.5 were rewarded at the payout window.
Greg McElroy completed 13 of 15 pass attempts for 218 yards for the Crimson Tide in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Brandon Rutley rushed for 52 yards for San Jose State, while David Freeman added 20 yards. Jordan La Secla threw for 85 yards for the Spartans, while receivers Noel Grigsby and Chandler Jones had 55 and 20 yards respectively.
San Jose State lost the offensive yardage battle to Alabama 591-175 yards in Saturday's game. Alabama had more first downs as that total ended up 30-7.
The time of possession battle favored Alabama as their offense was on the field for 30:42, longer than the 29:18 of their opponents.
Next game, Alabama takes its act home to face Penn State looking for another win. For San Jose State, they head on the road to face Wisconsin.
