Alabama cruised to victory on Saturday, as they ran up a 31-6 score against Florida in Week 5 action at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Alabama won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the 7.5-point spread as favorites. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go UNDER the closing number of 47.5.
Greg McElroy completed 11 of 17 pass attempts for 84 yards for the Crimson Tide in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Jeffery Demps rushed for 47 yards for Florida, while Omarius Hines added 19 yards. John Brantley threw for 202 yards for the Gators, while receivers Deonte Thompson and Trey Burton had 60 and 33 yards respectively.
Alabama lost the offensive yardage battle to Florida 281-273 yards in Saturday's game. Alabama had more first downs as that total ended up 18-17.
The time of possession battle favored Florida as their offense was on the field for 32:50, longer than the 27:10 of their opponents.
Next game, Alabama takes its act on the road to face South Carolina looking for another win. For Florida, they head home to face LSU.
