Western Kentucky Falls 35-0 to Crimson Tide - Recap
The battle between the Crimson Tide and Hilltoppers didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Western Kentucky was handed a 35-0 defeat on Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Alabama won on the scoreboard, but lost at the pay window as they failed to cover the 38-point spread. The game went UNDER the consensus closing total of 52.5.
AJ McCarron completed 14 of 19 pass attempts for 219 yards for the Crimson Tide in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Antonio Andrews rushed for 27 yards for Western Kentucky, while Leon Allen added 26 yards. Kawaun Jakes threw for 178 yards for the Hilltoppers, while receivers Antonio Andrews and Jack Doyle had 52 and 45 yards respectively.
Western Kentucky lost the offensive yardage battle to Alabama 328-224 yards in Saturday's game. Alabama had more first downs as that total ended up 17-14.
Alabama lost the time of possession battle 32:28/27:32, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Next game, Alabama takes its act on the road to face Arkansas looking for another win. For Western Kentucky, they head on the road to face Kentucky.
