Recap - Avalanche Defeat Edmonton 3-2

Colorado earned a 3-2 victory over Edmonton on Saturday, but needed a shootout to do it at Rexall Place.

Colorado was an underdog by +105 and came through for bettors backing them. The game went UNDER the consensus closing total of 5.5.

The win was clinched by Ryan Stoa, who beat Nikolai Khabibulin in a shootout to gain the extra point in the standings for Colorado. Kevin Porter and Matt Duchene each scored for the Avalanche in the victory. Duchene opened the scoring for Colorado, finding the back of the net at 9:47 of the first period. The goal was assisted by Daniel Winnik.

Brian Elliott turned in a 31-save effort for the Avalanche.

Kurtis Foster and Jordan Eberle scored for the Oilers, finding the net behind Brian Elliott.

Nikolai Khabibulin stopped 25 of 27 shots for the Oilers, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

On the power play, Colorado went 0-for-2, while the Oilers were 1-for-5 with the man advantage.

Colorado lost the shots on goal battle to Edmonton by a margin of 33-27.

Next game, Colorado takes its act home to face Columbus looking for another win. For Edmonton, they head on the road to face Nashville.
