Detroit got goals from Mike Modano, Danny Cleary, Henrik Zetterberg, and Valtteri Filppula in the loss, but it wasn't enough.

Jimmy Howard stopped 11 of 15 shots for the Red Wings, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

On the power play, Pittsburgh went 0-for-3, while the Red Wings were 2-for-4 with the man advantage.

Pittsburgh lost the shots on goal battle to Detroit by a margin of 41-25.

Pittsburgh heads into a battle against the Flyers. Detroit, meanwhile, will have their next action against Vancouver.
