Recap - Flames Defeat Edmonton 5-4

The Oilers came up short Saturday against the Flames, falling 5-4 in a shootout.

The Flames were a -190 favorite in the win. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 5.5.

Alex Tanguay clinched the win with a shootout goal in round 1 for the Flames. Calgary got goals from Jarome Iginla (2), Steve Staios, and Curtis Glencross in the victory. Iginla opened the scoring at 8:22 of the second period.

Miikka Kiprusoff turned in a 17-save effort for the Flames.

Colin Fraser, Ryan Jones, Magnus Paajarvi, and Teemu Hartikainen scored for the Oilers, finding the net behind Miikka Kiprusoff.

Devan Dubnyk stopped 27 of 31 shots for the Oilers, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

Calgary scored 2 times on 4 chances on the power play, while Edmonton went 0-for-2 with the man advantage.

Edmonton lost the shots on goal battle to Calgary by a margin of 31-21.

Calgary looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Ducks. The Oilers will aim to get back on the winning track vs Los Angeles.
