Atlanta Skates Past Ottawa 5-4 - Recap

Atlanta earned a 5-4 victory over Ottawa on Sunday, but needed a shootout to do it at Philips Arena.

The Thrashers were a -130 favorite in the win. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 5.5.

Andrew Ladd clinched the win with a shootout goal in round 4 for the Thrashers. Atlanta got goals from Mark Stuart, Blake Wheeler, Bryan Little, and Ben Maxwell in the victory. Wheeler opened the scoring at 4:02 of the first period.

Chris Mason turned in a 24-save effort for the Thrashers.

Ottawa got goals from Marek Svatos (2), Chris Neil, and Erik Condra in the loss, but it wasn't enough.

Craig Anderson stopped 43 of 47 shots for the Senators, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

On the power play, Atlanta went 0-for-4, while the Senators were 0-for-1 with the man advantage.

Atlanta outshot Ottawa 47-28 in the game.

Atlanta looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Canadiens. The Senators will aim to get back on the winning track at Tampa Bay.
