Bulldogs vs Volunteers Final: 41-14 - Recap
The battle between the Bulldogs and Volunteers didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Tennessee was handed a 41-14 defeat on Saturday at Sanford Stadium.
Georgia won and also put money in the pockets of their supporters by covering the 11.5-point spread as favorites. Totals bettors, meanwhile, saw the game go OVER the closing number of 48.5.
Aaron Murray completed 17 of 25 pass attempts for 266 yards for the Bulldogs in the win. He did not throw an interception in the game.
Tauren Poole rushed for 51 yards for Tennessee, while Rajion Neal added 3 yards. Matt Simms threw for 179 yards for the Volunteers, while receivers Justin Hunter and Rajion Neal had 110 and 70 yards respectively.
Tennessee was outgained by Georgia 402-269 yards in Saturday's match, while the important battle of first downs was won 20-12 by the Bulldogs.
Tennessee lost the time of possession battle 34:33/25:27, leaving their defense on the field more than they wanted.
Georgia looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against Vanderbilt. Tennessee will aim to get back on the winning track vs Alabama.
