Bruins Fall 4-1 Against Carolina - Game Recap

Carolina skated to a 4-1 victory over Boston on Tuesday in NHL action at TD Garden.

The Hurricanes were a +140 underdog in the win. The combined score dipped UNDER the total, which closed at 5.5.

Joni Pitkanen, Tuomo Ruutu, Eric Staal, and Anthony Stewart each scored for the Hurricanes in the victory. Stewart opened the scoring for Carolina, finding the back of the net at 2:47 of the first period. The goal was assisted by Brett Sutter and Joni Pitkanen.

Cam Ward turned in a 33-save effort for the Hurricanes.

Boston got a goal from Rich Peverley in the loss, but it wasn't enough.

Tuukka Rask stopped 19 of 23 shots for the Bruins, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

On the power play, Carolina went 2-for-9, while the Bruins were 1-for-4 with the man advantage.

Carolina lost the shots on goal battle to Boston by a margin of 34-23.

Next game, Carolina takes its act on the road to face St. Louis looking for another win. For Boston, they head home to face Toronto.
