Ottawa Skates Past Carolina 3-2 - Recap

The Hurricanes came up short Tuesday against the Senators, falling 3-2 in a shootout.

The Senators were a +155 underdog in the win. The combined score dipped UNDER the total, which closed at 5.5.

The win was clinched by Jason Spezza, who beat Cam Ward in a shootout to gain the extra point in the standings for Ottawa. Ottawa got goals from Jason Spezza and Zenon Konopka in the victory. Konopka opened the scoring at 6:30 of the second period.

Craig Anderson turned in a 32-save effort for the Senators.

Tuomo Ruutu and Jeff Skinner scored for the Hurricanes, finding the net behind Craig Anderson.

Cam Ward stopped 26 of 28 shots for the Hurricanes, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

On the power play, Ottawa went 1-for-1, while the Hurricanes were 1-for-4 with the man advantage.

Ottawa lost the shots on goal battle to Carolina by a margin of 34-28.

Next game, Ottawa takes its act home to face Florida looking for another win. For Carolina, they head home to face Chicago.
