Phoenix got goals from Radim Vrbata (2), Taylor Pyatt, and Lauri Korpikoski in the victory. Pyatt opened the scoring at 7:53 of the first period.

Mike Smith turned in a 39-save effort for the Coyotes.

Colorado got a goal from Ryan O'Reilly in the loss, but it wasn't enough.

Semyon Varlamov stopped 24 of 27 shots for the Avalanche, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

On the power play, Phoenix went 0-for-1, while the Avalanche were 0-for-4 with the man advantage.

Phoenix lost the shots on goal battle to Colorado by a margin of 40-28.

Phoenix looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Predators. The Avalanche will aim to get back on the winning track at Dallas.
