It came down to a shootout and Tim Thomas foiled the opposition in a 4-3 victory for Boston over Buffalo Wednesday.

Buffalo lost the shots on goal battle to Boston by a margin of 39-34.

Boston heads into a battle against the Red Wings. Buffalo, meanwhile, will have their next action against Columbus.
