Canadiens Fall 4-3 Against San Jose - Game Recap

San Jose needed a shootout to earn a 4-3 victory over Montreal on Thursday in NHL action at HP Pavilion.

San Jose won as a -200 favorite, while Over-Under bettors who played OVER the total of 5.5 were rewarded at the payout window.

Joe Pavelski clinched the win with a shootout goal in round 6 for the Sharks. San Jose got goals from Ryane Clowe, Jamie McGinn, and Logan Couture in the victory. McGinn opened the scoring at 14:02 of the first period.

Antti Niemi turned in a 29-save effort for the Sharks.

Erik Cole, Michael Cammalleri, and David Desharnais scored for the Canadiens, finding the net behind Antti Niemi.

Carey Price stopped 38 of 41 shots for the Canadiens, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

On the power play, San Jose went 0-for-1, while the Canadiens were 0-for-1 with the man advantage.

Montreal lost the shots on goal battle to San Jose by a margin of 41-32.

San Jose heads into a battle against the Panthers. Montreal, meanwhile, will have their next action against Los Angeles.
