The win was clinched by Cody Hodgson, who beat Carey Price in a shootout to gain the extra point in the standings for Vancouver. Vancouver got goals from Sami Salo, Mason Raymond, and Cody Hodgson in the victory. Raymond opened the scoring at 8:37 of the second period.
Roberto Luongo stopped 20 of 23 Montreal shots in the victory.
Erik Cole, Frederic St. Denis, and Raphael Diaz scored for the Canadiens, finding the net behind Roberto Luongo.
Carey Price stopped 28 of 31 shots for the Canadiens, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.
On the power play, Vancouver went 1-for-4, while the Canadiens were 0-for-4 with the man advantage.
Vancouver outshot Montreal 31-23 in the game.
