New York Skates Past Florida 6-1 - Recap

Florida couldn't hang with the Rangers on Sunday as New York blasted the Panthers 6-1 at Madison Square Garden.

The Rangers were a -118 favorite in the win. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 5.

Derek Stepan (2), Brad Richards, Marian Gaborik, Steve Eminger, and Artem Anisimov each scored for the Rangers in the victory. Richards opened the scoring for New York, finding the back of the net at 11:40 of the first period. The goal was assisted by Ryan Callahan.

Henrik Lundqvist turned in a 20-save effort for the Rangers.

Florida got a goal from Erik Gudbranson in the loss, but it wasn't enough.

Jose Theodore stopped 16 of 22 shots for the Panthers, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

On the power play, New York went 2-for-3, while the Panthers were 0-for-7 with the man advantage.

Florida lost the shots on goal battle to New York by a margin of 33-21.

Next game, New York takes its act home to face Dallas looking for another win. For Florida, they head home to face New Jersey.
