San Jose Falls 4-3 to Avalanche - Recap

Colorado earned a 4-3 victory over San Jose on Tuesday, but needed a shootout to do it at Pepsi Center.

Colorado won as a +130 underdog, while Over-Under bettors who played OVER the total of 5.5 were rewarded at the payout window.

Gabriel Landeskog potted the shootout winner for Colorado. Daniel Winnik, Matt Duchene, and Stefan Elliott each scored for the Avalanche in the victory. Elliott opened the scoring for Colorado, finding the back of the net at 19:43 of the first period. The goal was unassisted.

Semyon Varlamov turned in a 27-save effort for the Avalanche.

Patrick Marleau, Dan Boyle, and Jamie McGinn scored for the Sharks, finding the net behind Semyon Varlamov.

San Jose got a 30-stop effort from Antti Niemi in the loss.

On the power play, Colorado went 1-for-1, while the Sharks were 1-for-2 with the man advantage.

San Jose lost the shots on goal battle to Colorado by a margin of 33-30.
