Carolina Falls 3-2 to Panthers - Recap

Florida skated to a 3-2 victory over Carolina on Sunday in NHL action at BankAtlantic Center.

Bettors who backed the Panthers were rewarded as -163 favorites at sportsbooks. Over-Under bettors saw the total score go UNDER the closing total of 5.5.

Sean Bergenheim, Kris Versteeg, and Jason Garrison each scored for the Panthers in the victory. Bergenheim opened the scoring for Florida, finding the back of the net at 4:16 of the first period. The goal was assisted by Shawn Matthias and Ed Jovanovski.

Carolina got goals from Tim Gleason and Chad LaRose in the loss, but it wasn't enough.

Cam Ward stopped 22 of 25 shots for the Hurricanes, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

On the power play, Florida went 1-for-3, while the Hurricanes were 0-for-3 with the man advantage.

Florida lost the shots on goal battle to Carolina by a margin of 26-25.

Next game, Florida takes its act home to face Phoenix looking for another win. For Carolina, they head home to face Phoenix.
