Carolina Falls 5-2 to Predators - Recap

Nashville got a pair of goals from Patric Hornqvist as the Predators skated to a 5-2 victory over Carolina on Saturday at Bridgestone Arena.

The Predators were a -195 favorite in the win. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 5.5.

Patric Hornqvist (2), Shea Weber, Ryan Ellis, and Craig Smith each scored for the Predators in the victory. Weber opened the scoring for Nashville, finding the back of the net at 9:14 of the first period. The goal was assisted by Martin Erat and Sergei Kostitsyn.

Pekka Rinne stopped 27 of 29 Carolina shots in the victory.

Carolina got goals from Jay Harrison (2) in the loss, but it wasn't enough.

Justin Peters stopped 31 of 36 shots for the Hurricanes, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

On the power play, Nashville went 4-for-5, while the Hurricanes were 1-for-2 with the man advantage.

Nashville outshot Carolina 36-29 in the game.

Nashville looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Avalanche. The Hurricanes will aim to get back on the winning track vs Philadelphia.
