Hockey bettors who backed the Blues on the moneyline Saturday didn’t have to sweat out a close game, as St. Louis easily handled Colorado 4-0 at Scottrade Center.
The Blues were a -200 favorite in the win. The combined score dipped UNDER the total, which closed at 5.5.
St. Louis got goals from Jason Arnott, David Backes, Patrik Berglund, and Kevin Shattenkirk in the victory. Berglund opened the scoring at 3:20 of the first period.
Brian Elliott turned in a 15-save effort for the Blues.
Jean-Sebastien Giguere stopped 35 of 39 shots for the Avalanche, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.
On the power play, St. Louis went 2-for-5, while the Avalanche were 0-for-4 with the man advantage.
St. Louis outshot Colorado 39-15 in the game.
St. Louis heads into a battle against the Canadiens. Colorado, meanwhile, will have their next action against Nashville.
