Calgary earned a 2-1 victory over Los Angeles on Thursday, but needed a shootout to do it at STAPLES Center.

Calgary was an underdog by +168 and came through for bettors backing them. The game went UNDER the consensus closing total of 5.

The win was clinched by Michael Cammalleri, who beat Jonathan Quick in a shootout to gain the extra point in the standings for Calgary. Calgary got goals from Jarome Iginla in the victory. Iginla opened the scoring at 9:15 of the second period.

Miikka Kiprusoff turned in a 31-save effort for the Flames.

Dustin Brown scored for the Kings, finding the net behind Miikka Kiprusoff.

Jonathan Quick stopped 24 of 25 shots for the Kings, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

Calgary lost the shots on goal battle to Los Angeles by a margin of 32-25.

Calgary heads into a battle against the Oilers. Los Angeles, meanwhile, will have their next action against Colorado.
