Jayhawks win, don’t cover versus Owls

The Kansas Jayhawks won but didn’t cover in their opener on Saturday night, as they picked up a 30-19 victory over the Florida Atlanta Owls.

The Jayhawks had been favored by 26 points in this contest. The combined score went OVER the day’s posted total (43.5).

Jayhawks QB Brian Luke went 11-of-24 for 120 yards in the win, tossing a TD strike to Jeff Foster and getting intercepted once. Adam Barmann and Jon Cornish each ran for a Kansas score on the day.

Danny Embick completed 20-of-29 pass attempts for 298 yards for the Owls. Embick threw touchdown passes to Thomas Parker, D’Ivory Edgecombe, and Frantz Simeon.
