Jayhawks upend state rivals

Jon Cornish had 25 carries for 201 yards and two touchdowns as the Kansas Jayhawks beat their rivals, the Kansas State Wildcats, 39-20 at Memorial Stadium on Saturday.

The Jayhawks covered the 2.5-point home spread, and the 59 points scored were OVER the posted total of 51.5.

Kerry Meier was 11-for-23 for 108 yards and two interceptions, and Dexton Fields had seven catches for 72 yards for the Jayhawks.

Josh Freeman went 23-for-44 for 244 yards and three picks, while Leon Patton gained 102 yards and a score in 14 rushing attempts for the Wildcats.
