Red Wings Fall 5-4 Against Edmonton - Game Recap

It came down to a shootout and Devan Dubnyk foiled the opposition in a 5-4 victory for Edmonton over Detroit Saturday.

Edmonton won as a +137 underdog, while Over-Under bettors who played OVER the total of 5.5 were rewarded at the payout window.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins potted the shootout winner for Edmonton. Edmonton got goals from Sam Gagner (2) and Jordan Eberle (2) in the victory. Gagner opened the scoring at 2:42 of the first period.

Devan Dubnyk turned in a 35-save effort for the Oilers.

Todd Bertuzzi (2), Valtteri Filppula, and Drew Miller scored for the Red Wings, finding the net behind Devan Dubnyk.

Joey MacDonald stopped 22 of 23 shots for the Red Wings, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

On the power play, Edmonton went 2-for-3, while the Red Wings were 0-for-4 with the man advantage.

Edmonton lost the shots on goal battle to Detroit by a margin of 39-32.

Edmonton looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Maple Leafs. The Red Wings will aim to get back on the winning track at Phoenix.
