The Maple Leafs came up short Tuesday against the Jets, falling 2-1.

Chris Thorburn and Bryan Little each scored for the Jets in the victory. Thorburn opened the scoring for Winnipeg, finding the back of the net at 14:16 of the first period. The goal was assisted by Zach Bogosian and Jim Slater.

Ondrej Pavelec stopped 17 of 18 Toronto shots in the victory.

Toronto got a goal from Phil Kessel in the loss, but it wasn't enough.

Jonas Gustavsson stopped 27 of 29 shots for the Maple Leafs, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

On the power play, Winnipeg went 0-for-2, while the Maple Leafs were 0-for-2 with the man advantage.

Winnipeg outshot Toronto 29-18 in the game.

Winnipeg looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Capitals. The Maple Leafs will aim to get back on the winning track at Philadelphia.
