Washington Falls 3-2 to Jets - Recap

Winnipeg needed a shootout to earn a 3-2 victory over Washington on Thursday in NHL action at Verizon Center.

Bettors who backed the Jets were rewarded as +137 underdogs at sportsbooks. Over-Under bettors saw the total score go PUSH the closing total of 5.

Bryan Little clinched the win with a shootout goal in round 2 for the Jets. Dustin Byfuglien and Evander Kane each scored for the Jets in the victory. Kane opened the scoring for Winnipeg, finding the back of the net at 17:45 of the third period. The goal was assisted by Andrew Ladd and Dustin Byfuglien.

Ondrej Pavelec turned in a 32-save effort for the Jets.

Alexander Semin and Alex Ovechkin scored for the Capitals, finding the net behind Ondrej Pavelec.

Tomas Vokoun stopped 25 of 27 shots for the Capitals, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

On the power play, Winnipeg went 2-for-3, while the Capitals were 2-for-5 with the man advantage.

Winnipeg lost the shots on goal battle to Washington by a margin of 34-27.

Winnipeg heads into a battle against the Penguins. Washington, meanwhile, will have their next action against New York.
