San Jose Skates Past Chicago 5-3 - Recap

San Jose skated to a 5-3 victory over Chicago on Friday in NHL action at HP Pavilion.

The Sharks were a -140 favorite in the win. The combined score went OVER the total, which closed at 5.5.

Joe Thornton, Dan Boyle, Jamie McGinn, Benn Ferriero, and Justin Braun each scored for the Sharks in the victory. Braun opened the scoring for San Jose, finding the back of the net at 1:58 of the first period. The goal was assisted by Logan Couture and Brent Burns.

Antti Niemi turned in a 30-save effort for the Sharks.

Marcus Kruger (2) and Bryan Bickell scored for the Blackhawks, finding the net behind Antti Niemi.

Corey Crawford stopped 22 of 27 shots for the Blackhawks, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

On the power play, San Jose went 3-for-6, while the Blackhawks were 0-for-3 with the man advantage.

San Jose lost the shots on goal battle to Chicago by a margin of 33-27.

San Jose looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Blues. The Blackhawks will aim to get back on the winning track at Phoenix.
