Calgary Ices Toronto 5-1 - Recap

The battle between the Flames and Maple Leafs didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Toronto was handed a 5-1 defeat on Tuesday at Scotiabank Saddledome.

Calgary was favored by -117 and came through for bettors backing them. The game went OVER the consensus closing total of 5.5.

Calgary got goals from Jarome Iginla, Olli Jokinen, Alex Tanguay, Blake Comeau, and Paul Byron in the victory. Tanguay opened the scoring at 4:43 of the first period.

Miikka Kiprusoff turned in a 41-save effort for the Flames.

Tyler Bozak scored for the Maple Leafs, finding the net behind Miikka Kiprusoff.

Toronto got a 29-stop effort from Jonas Gustavsson in the loss.

On the power play, Calgary went 0-for-2, while the Maple Leafs were 0-for-3 with the man advantage.

Calgary lost the shots on goal battle to Toronto by a margin of 42-34.

Next game, Calgary takes its act on the road to face Dallas looking for another win. For Toronto, they head on the road to face Edmonton.
