Vancouver Ices Toronto 6-2 - Recap

The battle between the Canucks and Maple Leafs didn’t turn out to be much of a battle at all as Toronto was handed a 6-2 defeat on Saturday at Rogers Arena.

Vancouver won as a -188 favorite, while Over-Under bettors who played OVER the total of 5.5 were rewarded at the payout window.

Vancouver got goals from Alexandre Burrows (2), Sami Salo, Manny Malhotra, Daniel Sedin, and Kevin Bieksa in the victory. Burrows opened the scoring at 7:49 of the first period.

Roberto Luongo turned in a 24-save effort for the Canucks.

Dion Phaneuf and Nikolai Kulemin scored for the Maple Leafs, finding the net behind Roberto Luongo.

James Reimer stopped 14 of 18 shots for the Maple Leafs, but it wasn't enough to earn the victory.

On the power play, Vancouver went 1-for-2, while the Maple Leafs were 0-for-2 with the man advantage.

Toronto lost the shots on goal battle to Vancouver by a margin of 36-26.

Vancouver looks to continue their winning ways next game with a battle against the Oilers. The Maple Leafs will aim to get back on the winning track vs New Jersey.
